Did you know that Montreal actually ranks as one of the best cities in the world for St Patrick's Day festivities?

It's true! In fact, according to stats from 2015 - Montreal even beat out Dublin, Ireland, for the craziest St Patty's Day happenings.

With Montreal's St Patrick's Day parade being the largest of its kind in all of Canada, it's no surprise that we rank around the world.

Did you also know that the Montreal St Patrick's Day parade has been going on every year, without fail, since 1824? I certainly did not - and I think this is pretty amazing, am I right?

The history of the Irish holiday in Montreal goes back further than that, even. The celebrations began in Montreal back in 1759 when Irish soldiers stationed here in town began to celebrate their Nation's holiday.
