This really is the place to party.

Montreal easily has the best nightlife scene in all of Canada (you can try Toronto, but you can never win) but how does the city's party, bar, and club lineup compare to the rest of the world? According to CNN, Montreal measures up pretty well on a global scale.

Trying to name the world's best nightlife cities, CNN ranked metropolises from around the world based on four criteria: Hours (how late and how often people party), People (the hotness-levels and friendliness of the home population), Music (quality and variety) and Experience (liklihood of zany adventures and memorable experiences). Using those as nightlife scales, it's no wonder Montreal made the list.

Out of ten cities from around the world, Montreal ranked 7th overall, which ain't too shabby. In every category, Montreal received an 8 out of 10 ranking, making for a final score of 32. Decribed be CNN as "the undiscovered party gem of North America," the city's sexy people, veried music scene, and summer festivals were also praised.

Winter probably lost the city some points, as CNN points out its a bad time to visit. Some people are just soft and can't party in the cold, it would seem. Maybe if Igloofest was pointed out to the author along with Montreal's many other winter festivities, the city would have ranked a bit higher.
