Montreal Set To Break A Very Unique Guinness World Record This Friday

Montreal will be trying to set a new Guinness world record this Friday, April 18th. The city hopes to have the largest gathering of electric vehicles in one place, ever.

What seems like an incredibly random event is actually part of a larger iniative by the Centre national du transport avancé (CNTA) and its "Get Connected Day," an annual event held to increase awareness on electrically powered forms of transportation.

CNTA organizers hope to have a total of 500 electric vehicles gathered. The previous record to beat is Zurich's 305 total.

The rally will take place on the P8 parking in L'Île Sainte-Hélène (La Ronde) at 4pm on Friday, with counting beginning at 6pm. Free access will be given to participants.

All owners of electric vehicles, from inside and outside Quebec, are invited to join in the festivities and help break the world record. Get all the info here.

If you've got a Tesla, or another electrically powered car, get to La Ronde on Friday to help put Montreal on the global map.

Will you be attending the rally?
