Warning: Montreal Will Be Hit By A Major Snowstorm This Week
Just when we thought we were out, winter pulls us back in.
Yes, Mother Nature seemingly cares not for calendar dates, because despite the fact that spring has officially sprung, it's gonna feel like winter up in here this week. Cue inner tears of frustration and longing for warm weather. Actually, throw in some real tears too.
Winter-like weather makes its grand return early Thursday morning, as noted in an Environment Canada weather alert. Thanks to a "major system [that] will affect Southern and Central Quebec], we can look forward to a wintery blend of snow, ice pellets, and freezing rain throughout the day.
Overall, look forward to a "winterlike week" which has definitely already started, given that we already have snow set for today's weather schedule. We're also betting the choice descriptor used by Environment Canada for this week means we won't get a respite of warmth following the storm either.
There is a small silver lining to the whole thing, however, as "the largest snowfall amounts are expected over regions further north" from Montreal. So while we may get hit with tons of precipitation (which may just be rain for a while) at least we can take comfort in the fact that other areas are getting it worse.
And with that, I leave you with the Game of Thrones quote you half-knew I would used: Winter is coming. Sorry, I couldn't resist. Also, props to Jeremy for totally calling this spring-storm weeks ago.
