Montreal Will Be Hosting A City-Wide "Pizza Festival"

A cheesy, doughy, saucy celebration.
Montreal Will Be Hosting A City-Wide "Pizza Festival"

Okay, I know the trope that "pizza is bae" is a little played out... but it's also true, so I'm going to keep saying it forever.

And it seems like the universe agrees with me, too. I've been made aware recently that there's such a thing as a "National Pizza Day" that takes place annually on February 9.

In celebration of this most joyous day, here are a couple of pizzerias in Montreal you can go to to enjoy the world's best dish.

For the best pizza by the slice, check out Adamo's

via @_rudyrudy

4629 Rue Notre-Dame O

This St. Henri spot will totally make all your pizza dreams come true. A New York style pizzeria, their pizzas are always super fresh and super tasty; and you can pick them up by the (vey large) slice, or by the pie, if you're feeling like a few slices just won't cut it.

For the best classic pizza, check out Gigi's

via @gigi_pizza

302 Chemin du Bord-du-Lac

Honestly, a pizza from this Pointe-Claire spot is actual heaven in your mouth. The pizzas are doughy and delicious, piled high with your favourite toppings and soooo much cheese (AKA, sooo much awesome).

For the best white pizza, check out Amelia's

via @tatnianiaris

201 Rue Milton

If you're a cheese lover, then you need to get yourself to Amelia's, ASAP. Their 5 cheese white pizza is piled with so much gooey, tasty cheese, it'll literally make all of your dreams come true forever.

For the best artisanal pizza, check out Artigiani

via @shermansfoodadventures

65 Rue Saint-Zotique E

This Plateau restaurant serves up thin crust, perfectly cooked, traditional pizza. They've got both red (with sauce) and white (without sauce) options; plus, for dessert, their Nutella pizza takes the cake. (There's a pun about pies here, I just know it).

For the best "simple" pizza, check out Majella

via @jeannecasto

587 Rue Jarry E

Located in Montreal's Villeray, this pizzeria has a solid number of awesome pizzas to choose from. Most of them feature simple, fresh, high-quality ingredients, combined to make pretty much the tastiest pizzas you'll ever put in your mouth.

For the best pizza cooked in a wood-burning oven, check out Bottega

via @ciaomiranda12

65 Rue Saint-Zotique E

Although Bottega features pizzas with fresh and tasty toppings (and their tomato sauce will leave you crying real foodie tears), it's really the dough that's the star of the show. Cooked up in their wood-burning oven, the pizza dough is crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and the perfect dense-yet-airy combination.

For the best Neapolitan style, check out Pizzeria Napoletana

via @sincity84

189 Rue Dante

A classic in Montreal, this Little Italy pizzeria has been around forever - and one bite of their thin, crisp, delicious pizzas will tell you exactly why. Bonus points for their super tasty, classic pasta dishes, too.
