11 Colourful Spots Around Montreal To Snap Some Summer Photos

What's better than all the bright colours of the summer? You're right — not much! Nothing brings a smile to someone's day quite like summer sunshine and being surrounded by all things bright and cheery, which is why we found places to go in Montreal that have a splash of colour all over them.

When it comes to summer, we know it, unfortunately, won't last forever. That's why you gotta get out there and soak it all in while you can.

But not to worry — If there's anyone who knows how to make the most of a short season, it's Montrealers.

Montreal is filled with colourful streets and colourful people.

Even in the winter, but no one wants to think about that right now.

What's the best way to make it last longer? Take a picture, of course.

We know the city is in its prime right now and you want to share it with everyone you know.

And when it comes to those perfect spots for a summery photo, Montreal's got you covered.

Here's a list of some the most colourful spots on the island l that say all things "summer".

Street Murals

Where: All over the city

One of my favourite parts about walking around the city is seeing some beautiful street art that seems to give the island an extra pop of colour.

Botanical Gardens

Address: 4101, rue Sherbrooke E., Montreal, QC

The Botanical Gardens are one of the most blooming parts of the city. The themed gardens and greenhouses are not only gorgeous but works of art in themselves.

The Montreal Observation Wheel

Address: 362, rue de la Commune E., Montreal, QC

This is one of the most iconic parts of the Old Port and the city skyline, in general. At night, it lights up, but in the day, it continues to brighten our day, too.

Montreal Museum of Fine Arts

Address:1380, rue Sherbrooke O., Montreal, QC

You'd obviously expect to find lots of bright colours and masterpieces in an art museum. But the art isn't confined to the building. If you head outside onto rue Bishop, you'll find a stunning piece on the actual street.

Taking street art to a whole new level.

Urban Forest

Address: Between rue Sherbrooke O. and ave. President-Kennedy Avenue, Montreal, QC

Back for its tenth year, the Urban Forest outside of the McCord Museum is a dreamy and peaceful spot in the middle of downtown. They've got picnic benches for you to enjoy a quick bite or can snap a quick pic with the billowing trees.

Jacques Cartier Bridge

Technically the bridge lights up all year, but there's something so magical about the bridge being lit up on a warm summer night that we just had to include it!

Palais des congrès de Montréal

Address: 1001, place Jean-Paul Riopelle Pl, Montreal, QC

Palais des congrès is one of the most stand-out buildings in the city. Even if you aren't going to a conference or event, just a trip to the building is worth it for the gorgeous, colourful panelling.

Jean-Talon Market

Address: 7070, ave. Henri Julien, Montreal, QC

Colourful produce, colourful flowers, colourful people and even more colour! Jean-Talon Market is a great spot for that little extra zing that you're looking for... whatever it may be.

Square Saint-Louis

Address: rue du Square Saint-Louis, Montreal, QC

The colourful, Victorian houses around Saint Louis Square are a sight to be seen. It's also a literary landmark, with some of Montreal's greatest poets and novelists once calling it home.

Rue Drolet

Address: rue Drolet, Montreal, QC

If you're looking for more brightly painted houses, head over to rue Drolet, known for its homes that are so bright they seem to glow.

Parc Frédéric-Back

Address: 2345, rue Jarry E., Montreal, QC

You can find this park in the Saint-Michel Environmental Complex and is one of the quirkiest and most unique spots in Montreal, with its sculptures and fields.

Wishing you lots of colourful days.
