It's time to shake things up. Many of the activities, festivals and outdoor events are closing up for the season this October. So it's time to do all of those free things to do in Montreal that maybe you've been putting off during the summer months.
October is also usually the ideal month to get outside for some of those last strolls around the city or hikes up the mountain without worrying too much about the chill factor. Because once November is here, a lot of us Montrealers begin to practice our hibernation methods for the winter to come.
This also happens to be one of the most beautiful months for the city; it's a little emptier with most of the summer tourists long gone; leaves have changed to yellows and reds, stores are starting to prepare for Halloween, yet you're not quite hit with the barrage that is Christmas.
With all that in mind, and knowing some of us wouldn't mind a little extra padding in our wallet over the next few months, we took a look at 30 free things you can still do in Montreal for October.
Dust off your summer bucket list, October may be the last time you can experience some of these.
