Christmas may still be two months away, but the cold weather means we're allowed to start celebrating, right?
In the midst of planning our Halloween costumes, many of us have already started listening to Mariah Carey's Christmas album on repeat. Versatility is the veins of our Montreal hearts.
Place Émilie-Gamelin is famous in our city for hosting a diversity of events, and this Christmas it will be living up to its name. It is taking the 12 Days of Christmas song we all know and love, and multiplying it by 2 (+2)! Here, Noël Dans le Parc will be celebrated as a 26-day Christmas festival, hosted by Auguste Théâtre.
The Christmas village will run from November 30 to December 25, with spokesperson Damien Robitaille leading them. Although most of the action will be happening at Place Émilie-Gamelin, there will also be events taking place at Parc des Compagnons de Saint-Laurent and Parc Lahaie. Basically, anywhere you go in the city, you're likely to see reminiscences of Noël Dans le Parc.
There are going to be numerous fireplaces around the events, which helps both the ambience and the warmth of the surrounding area. If you love winter but hate being cold, this festival is your solution.
While you sit by the fire, you'll be able to watch live performances by some of Quebec's best entertainers.
All three spots are going to have resto-bars filled with your winter favourites, like warm spiced wine and roasted marshmallows.
You can count on Santa Claus being there (the real one, of course).
The best part of this festival? You can get your Christmas tree here! It will be delivered right to your door, so you don't have to worry about carrying it the way Charlie Brown had to.
The trees are some of the best Abies Balsamea you can find in North America, and the money you spend on them goes right back to Noël Dans le Parc. So, buying a tree this year will make a better Christmas festival next year!
The full 2019 programme hasn't been released yet, so make sure to keep your eye out for it!
