It may be cold outside, but one thing is for sure, we won't run out of free things to do in Montreal during December. Although we know Montreal has tons of Christmas markets happening, there are also so many other free things you can do this month, like go to concerts, interactive shows, and outdoor activities for everyone from couch to sports enthusiasts. The problem won't be finding something to do, it will be figuring out which ones you have the time to do. Money is usually pretty tight around the holiday season with gifts, dinners, and Christmas parties to attend. But luckily, Montreal takes this into account and has a host of free events and festivities to explore.
The city can be beautiful in the winter, so even if nothing on this list fits your mood, you can always take a snowy stroll through the Old Port or spend a few bucks at the dollar store, grab a crazy carpet, and head to the hill for a day of sledding.
And, of course, there is always the option of just holing up at home in your PJs on the couch and hoping no one asks you to go outside.
Without further ado, here are the top 30 free things to do in Montreal in December.
