40,000 Clients In Montreal Area Are Currently Without Power Due To Hydro Quebec Transmission Problem

Reports are emerging of a power outage in various parts of Montreal, the Laurentians, and the Montérégie region.

The outage, which is supposedly due to a tripped breaker at a station in Saguenay, leaves 40 000 Hydro-Quebec customers without power.

TL;DR 40 000 people are without power right now because of a tripped breaker at a Hydro Quebec station in Saguenay.

Initially, the tripped breaker caused outages for about 142 000 clients, though Hydro-Quebec was able to quickly restore power to 100 000 clients.

According to reports, over 40 000 clients are still affected.

According to the Hydro website, most clients in Montreal should have their power back by 6:15 tonight.
