5 Highly Underrated Restaurants In Montreal

Montreal is a city known for our orange cones, our beautiful women and, of course, our incredible eats. We Montrealers get very spoiled when it comes to food. Our city is so rich in culture that we are exposed to delicious eats from around the globe in every part of the city. Montreal really has something to offer anyone when it comes to food.
But because there are so many options in our city, a lot of restaurants get ignored or forgotten.
We live in a society almost obsessed with trends set by social media, which means that there are a few restaurants in our municipality that are not getting the love they deserve.
Below are a few Montreal restaurants that deserve your attention.
Café Smile
Where: 5486 Blvd. St-Laurent
What: This family-run restaurant located on boulevard Saint-Laurent is most popular amongst those working at renowned software giant Ubisoft. Droves of staff make their way across the street from their office each day. Smile is known for its mouth-watering Portuguese chicken, but I must say after trying nearly everything on the menu, that is not the only thing worth indulging in. Not only is the food delicious, but you can eat like a king at an affordable price. Your only regret: Why you had never tried it before!
Billy Geez
Where: 6254 Ave. Somerled
What: Located on Somerland in NDG, Billy Geez is one of those places you need to know about to even notice it in the first place. As a loyal customer for the past 13 years, I can assure you that it will be one of the tastiest and most juicy burgers you will ever have. Their special sauce combined with their freshly made patties are sure to have you coming back for more. Not only are the burgers incredible, but the poutine, hot dogs and chicken wings are also top notch.
Tasty Food Pizza
Where: 6660 Blvd. Decarie
What: Tasty Food Pizza’s earliest incarnation dates back to 1958 and its history is filled with fires, floods and of course, delicious pizza. This Greek-owned pizzeria is known for its unique pies and one of the only restaurants that cook up a crust made in whole wheat. Trust me when I tell you, you wouldn’t know the difference. Located on Decarie with a free parking lot, Tasty Food deserves all the love they get and more!
Tripolis
Where: 679 Rue Saint-Roch
What: As a Greek, I can tell you that I am very picky when it comes to Greek food and for the past 20 or so years, Tripolis has never disappointed. Tucked away in Park Ex, Tripolis is one of those places that you pray will never close. Serving some of the most delicious salads and lamb chops in the city, there is no one that does family style Greek food like it… well maybe in Greece but definitely not in in the 514.
Restorante Primo e Secondo
Where: 7023 Rue St-Dominique
What: By far the priciest restaurant on our list, Primo e Secondo is a go-to for special occasions. Located right next to the Jean Talon market, this cozy, Italian restaurant is what pasta dreams are made of. Renowned chef Roberto Stabile takes pride in his craft and you can taste the quality and love with every bite you take. The restaurant is certain to exceed any and every expectation you have.
