I'm always so concerned about where my next exotic vacation will be that I tend to forget the magnetic beauty that spreads throughout our entire province. Quebec has some of the most beautiful National Parks and Lakes, and some of them are even within driving distance of Montreal. With this in mind, I decide to make a list of lakes in Quebec. These are not only beautiful, but they give off that glistening, reflective look that makes for some of the most phenomenal views, and photos!
These picturesque lakes also offer a ton of serenity, making them an ideal spot for when life in Montreal gets a little too intense. We all at times feel overwhelmed and there is nothing wrong with needing to get away, even if it is just for the day.
We are truly lucky to live somewhere that is jam-packed with gorgeous and inspiring places that allow us to disconnect from our mundane day-to-day tasks and reconnect with ourselves and our loved ones.
Whether you only have a day or if you can manage to escape for the weekend, the following lakes have the ability to relax even the tensest visitors. The mirror-like water reflecting the abundance of beauty surrounding is truly what road trip dreams are made of!
Blue Sea Lake
Distance from Montreal: 3 hours & 30 minutes
The name alone gives off a majestic feel that instantly draws you to it. Blue Sea Lake is known for having some of the most blue and clear water in the province.
Not only does the colour allow you to feel connected to it but the serenity felt while visiting the lake is ideal for anyone in need of an escape from the commotion of the city.
And, best of all, there are a ton of cottages that you can rent for the weekend within the area, making this a great place for a weekend escape.
Park National Gaspesie
Distance from Montreal: 7 hours & 50 minutes
This breathtaking park on the Gaspé peninsula may be far from Montreal but it is totally worth the drive.
Not only is this location home to the highest peak of the Appalachian Mountains in Canada but visitors will be in awe of the dramatic views that surround them.
The reflective water creates a "zen" like ambiance and the entire park is truly a romantic place to be.
Hautes Gorges De La Rivieres Malbaie
Distance from Montreal: 4 hours & 40 minutes
If you're searching for a location that not only offers splendid views of nature but also picturesque reflective water, then you are going to want to take a little drive to this fabulous location.
Not only is this a fantastic place to visit, but it also happens to be an epic camping spot, for anyone willing to sleep in a tent for the night!
Lac Ouimet
Distance from Montreal: 1 hour & 30 minutes
For those of you seeking somewhere a little closer to home, this little lake in Mont-Tremblant is the ideal spot for a day trip.
Sit by the water and relax as you watch the surrounding trees reflect on the mirror-like water.
And, best of all there are a ton of cottages for rent, so if you want to make a weekend out of the adventure, that is a possibility as well!
Pink Lake Gatineau
Distance from Montreal: 2 hours & 50 minutes
Although the water at Pink Lake is not actually pink, it is beautiful enough to drive two hours and 50 minutes to go see.
Located in Gatineau park, this picture-perfect lake is surrounded by both mountains and greenery.
Although you can't swim in the water, you can still get some awesome Instagram pictures and of course, a day of relaxation out of it. What more could you ask for?
Lac Superieur
Distance From ontreal: 1 hour & 35 minutes
Located in Mont Tremblant, this calm and clear lake is an incredibly scenic view to wake up to. The water not only has a beautiful colour, but it has an undeniable serenity that will give you the illusion of being somewhere far away from Montreal.
And, best of all, it's close to home. In less than two hours you can take in the grandeur of this Quebec gem.
