7 Bars In Quebec City Where You & Your Date Can Get Cozy & Forget About The Cold

There are so many ways you can spend a winter day with your favourite person that don't include being out in the cold or on the couch watching Netflix (the latter being a perfectly viable option though). Luckily for us, our province's capital is filled with places to go on a date. And, one of the best ways to get warm and cozy with a date is in one of the warm and cozy bars in Quebec City

Quebec City already has a reputation for being the most romantic city in Canada, so you don't have to work very hard on that front. But if you're tired after a day of sightseeing or shopping or just want to have a drink in front of a fire with your partner, Quebec City also has a ton of quaint bars to warm up in.

One of the most popular, and definitely a must-visit if you haven't already, are the bars at Fairmont Fairmont Le Château Frontenac; Bistro Le Sam and Bar 1608. Both have fireplaces, large leather seats and amazing views.

But we wanted to move away from the too obvious. Check out the list below for the coziest places to grab a drink on a cold Quebec City day.

Pub L'Oncle Antoine

Where: 29 rue Saint-Pierre

Red leather seats, vaulted brick and stone walls, wood-burning fireplace; what else could you need on a cold winter day? Sit back with a beer, scotch, or wine and enjoy the warmth and extremely friendly staff.

It's also Quebec's oldest bar and according to some, you may be sharing that drink with a few ghosts.

Pub Nelligan's

Where: 789 Côte Sainte-Geneviève, Quebec City

There is one sure-fire way to warm up, and that's with a glass of scotch. This quaint Irish pub has a huge whiskey menu that you can enjoy while relaxing in a cozy place with brick and wood accents.

Bar Le Sacrilège

Where: 447 rue Saint-Jean, Québec City

Known for its gorgeous summertime terrasse, Bar Le Sacrilège is still a great place to grab a drink in the winter.

This charming pub will give you that cozy feeling with its church pew seats and large windows looking out onto the cold winter day that you don't have to be a part of (at least for a few hours).

Q-de-Sac Resto-Pub

Where: 10 rue du Cul-de-Sac, Quebec City

This little pub will make you feel like you just came in from a day of skiing. The chalet decor makes for a warm and cozy way to spend the day. And what says 'forget about the cold' like an on fire bar and tandem maple whiskey shots?

Louise Taverne & Bar à Vin

Where: 48 rue Saint-Paul, Quebec City

For the wine drinkers out there, stop by the Louise Taverne & Bar à Vin located in the Port-Royal Hotel. You can choose between the tavern side or the wine bar side (I prefer the latter if you're not too hungry). Both sides are warm and inviting so, either way, you'll forget about the cold in no time.

Maelstrøm Saint-Roch

Where: 181 rue Saint-Vallier E., Quebec City

This coffee and cocktail spot can be easy to miss as the only indicator that it is there is a small white sign. The mismatched furniture, brick walls, and plank flooring give it a vintage, homey feel.

But don't let that fool you, the cocktail list is invigorating, the coffee selections modern and if you're not a big drinker, this is the one place that has lots of non-alcoholic options.

Les Salons d'Edgar

Where: 263 rue Saint-Vallier E., Quebec City

Everything you could need to while away a day in a pub is here. Sip a drink on the leather couch in front of the fireplace, enjoy the dimly-lit ambiance sitting at the bar, challenge your date to a game of pool - whatever you want to

See what it's all about!

Ah, what a wonderful way to spend an afternoon or evening.... Or both.
