7 Montreal Museums You Can Attend For Free This Winter

It's cold outside, really cold. And if you're like me, the idea of doing any outdoor activity, or just being outside for more than an hour sounds like plain torture.

Good thing we have plenty of indoor activities to keep us Montrealers busy during the next 3 months. We even have a underground city! So really, there's no reason to be outside.

TL;DR You can have FREE access to these museums on the first Sunday of every month this winter. This weekend, it will fall on January 6th. In February it will land on the 3rd, and in March on the 3rd as well. See all museums that are participating below!

That said, Montreal has several fantastic museums that you can visit for free every month this winter.

That's because the government of Quebec has set aside a generous budget of 5 million dollars over five years to allow for free-entry into several museums, not just in Montreal but across Quebec!  

You can have free access to several museums on the first Sunday of every month. This weekend it will fall on January 6th. In February it will land on the 3rd, and in March on the 3rd as well. Here are all the museums that are participating!

Montreal Museum of Fine Arts

The free admission covers the museum collection. Special exhibitions are not included.
