Will there ever be a time when we're sick of Harry Potter? The answer as of late is a hard and resounding no. The month of November is becoming a Potterhead's dream come true in Montreal beginning with an adults-only Potter themed beer and cocktail festival and now word that a Harry Potter live concert is coming to Place des Arts.
In the words of Dumbledore, "Ah music... A magic beyond all we do here!”
The sixth installment of J.K. Rowling’s series, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, will be projected in HD onto a massive screen at the Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier theatre, accompanied by a full symphony orchestra.
Watching a favourite movie with the addition of a live score played in tandem is nothing short of magical.
This isn't the first Potter concert put on by CineConcerts. The group has travelled the globe, allowing fans to experience all eight of the films with a goosebump-inducing effect of a live orchestra backdrop.
The Potter films already have such a recognizable and unforgettable music score, that this pairing is a match made in heaven.
The concert comes to Montreal on November 22 and 23. Tickets are on sale now and start at $50.
The theatre will be decorated in Potter style like the individual flags for Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Slytherin, and Ravenclaw houses to give it that Hogwarts feel.
Fans are encouraged to dress up (who knew that costume could come in so handy) and relive their favourite JK Rowling moments. Of course, there will be photo opportunities like getting your pic snapped in the Daily Prophet.
There is no word yet if the following film in the beloved series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1, will make its way back to Montreal in 2020, but you will be able to catch it in Toronto.
