A Montreal Woman Was Struck By An STM Bus Early This Morning
  • A female pedestrian in Montreal has been struck by an STM bus.
  • Both driver and pedestrian were taken to hospital.
  • Some roads were closed at the time of publication.

Early this morning, a woman who was walking in the neighbourhood of Ahuntsic-Cartierville was struck by an STM bus, putting her in critical condition.

Police are not currently releasing details about the woman, including her age, and there are little details about the nature of the incident.

The collision took place at around 5:30 AM this morning but other circumstances or details that may have lead to the accident are unclear.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Sauvé and Saint-Laurent. At the last update from SPVM representatives, roads were closed for some time as police were continuing to investigate.

The video below shows the aftermath of the incident. The woman is currently in critical condition in the hospital, and the driver was also taken to hospital to be treated for shock.

As mentioned above, the police were not releasing information about the victim or the driver at this time and details are sparse.

This incident comes just as the STM is rolling out service improvements for the new season, including increased departures on the #427 bus. There have been no implications around which bus line the driver was following when the incident occurred.

There has been no indication from the STM that this will impact any of the bus routes in the area, however, there have been some road closures.

Road closures at the time of publication are as follows:

- Saint-Laurent is closed between rue Sauriol Ouest and rue Port-Royal

- Sauvé is closed between rue Clark and Grande-Allée

We will update this space with any further details as they come to light.
