“This is a full-blown, four-alarm holiday emergency, here.”
A Boozy Screening Of National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation Is Coming To Montreal This Week

What is the holiday season without the ultimate fan Christmas movies like Die Hard, Gremlins, and for Samuel L. Jackson fans, The Long Kiss Goodnight? And one fan-favourite happens to be celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, the 80s classic National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (Le Sapin a Des Boules). With that in mind, Festival SPASM and McFly EVT have joined forces to create a night in Montreal where you can screen the film in the utmost style.

On December 20, Le Sapin a Des Boules Christmas party will be like no movie you've experienced before with animations, decor, drinks, and surprises.

The movie will be screened in French, and of course, audience participation is expected during the show. Instructions are given out 48 in advance so get ready to channel your inner Griswald.

Last year, McFly EVT took on Die Hard and guests were seen wearing the John McClane style white tank tops and climbing through air vents for photo ops.

For this year's party, costumes are encouraged. So, unearth your ugliest Christmas sweater, or get out your bathrobe, winter boots, and trooper hat (a la Cousin Eddie), or don a pillbox hat, pearls and plaid suit in honour of Aunt Bethany.

The event has gained so much popularity that they nearly sold out of tickets and had to move the event to Club Soda to accommodate more guests.

Tickets are $15 if you buy them before December 20, and $20 on the day of the event. But it might be wise to book your tickets now, as they seem to be selling out fast.

This year there are also VIP tickets available where you can get up close and personal with the interactive movie, which includes a floor table for four guests and treats for $80.

The doors open at 8 p.m. and the film begins at 9 p.m. If it's anything like last year's Die Hard event, expect a night of raucous Christmas fun with Chevy Chase's dysfunctional family, that will make going home to yours a little easier.
