- A couple from Massachusetts were overjoyed when a witness snapped photos of the moment of their engagement on Mount Royal. But they accidentally lost contact with the photographer.
- Now, they're turning to the public to help locate him.
When Lou proposed to Kate on Saturday, August 3, at the top of Mount Royal, it wasn't an unexpected surprise. The couple already live together in a home in Belmont, Massachussets with their 7-year-old chihuahua.
However, some things did not turn out as planned for the couple, who came to Montreal for a fun weekend getaway. According to Lou, he had planned to propose to his girlfriend during this trip and had been "dropping hints" for a little while now.
So, as they spent the last few hours of their trip climbing to one of the most scenic destinations, Lou decided that this was the perfect spot to propose to his girlfriend. At this point, according to Lou, Kate "was a bit annoyed with me," as the trip was almost over, yet the promised ring was yet to be seen.
When the couple reached the Mount Royal chalet, Lou dropped to one knee and proposed to his girlfriend. According to him, after she said yes, "we got a round of applause and congratulations."
Lou said that there were a lot of people around on that Saturday afternoon. One of those people was a man, who "had been taking a picture of his friends when he saw me proposing."
He decided to shift his lens to the happy couple, and took many photos of the pair.
The photographer offered to send the photos to the newly engaged couple and took down Kate's email. However, Lou says that he must have jotted down the wront email, because they never received the photos.
Lou says that, unfortunately, the couple was "a bit overwhelmed with all the people around us, so we didn't double check if we had received the photos before we parted ways."
Now, Kate and Lou hope to find the person who captured the special moment. Capturing someone's engagement moment is obviously something that you'd tell your friends about later.
If you've caught wind of this, let the photographer know that they can contact MTL Blog via Facebook message, and we will pass along Lou's information.
