All The Hollywood Movies & Celebrities Filming In Montreal This Winter

There is something magical about Montreal, so much so that is has become a popular place to film some pretty epic movies, with some even more epic celebrities. Throughout the summer, Kevin Hart was roaming around our city while filming his new movie, and this winter, we will likely be blessed with even more A-list stars.

Expect a milder than usual winter, because the likes of Michelle Pfeiffer, Aubrey Plaza, Natasha Lyonne, Shia LaBeouf, and even Michael Caine will be in town to heat us all up. As cold as it may be outside, we need to walk with our head high and our hood down because there is a chance you could spot one of these celebrities on your morning commute!

If you have seen anyone filming in your area, let us know and, if you do spot them, make sure you respect their work and space as we want them to come back!

It comes as no surprise that celebrities love Montreal, I mean let's face it, it’s a pretty great city! From the plethora of restaurants to the lively nightlife and kind people, our city, though far from perfect, is a great source of pride for its residents.

The U.S. vs. Billie Holiday

Directed by Lee Daniels, this movie will be filming in Montreal until December 2020 and it is jam-packed with some pretty amazing actors.

The film follows Holiday through her career as she is targeted by the Federal Department of Narcotics. The story is filled with twists and turns as the man leading the sting operation is a past lover.

Starring Garret Hedlund from Mudbound, Natasha Lyonne from Orange Is The New Black and Russian Doll, and Trevante Rhodes from Moonlight and Birdbox, this movie is not one you are going to want to miss — especially since it will be filmed in Montreal.

Best Sellers

Best Sellers is a movie about a retired author who is reluctant to embark on his final book tour, which will help out a young publisher.

The film, starring the hilarious Aubrey Plaza alongside the legendary Academy Award Winner Michael Caine as well as Underworld's Scott Speedman, is a comedic drama, with more comedy than drama.

They will be filming in Montreal until December 12, 2019, which gives you a little less than a month to get your selfie with one of these stars.

French Exit

The film, directed by Azazel Jacobs, tells the story of an ageing Manhattan socialite living on the little that is left of her inheritance. Alone, with her son and her cat, she decides to move into a small apartment in Paris.

This comedic drama may be fictionally set in Paris but the reality is that it is being filmed right here in Montreal. Best of all, it stars one of the best actresses ever: the iconic Michelle Pfeiffer. Her on-screen son is played by the talented Lucas Hedges from Lady Bird.

This means that Pfeiffer will be roaming the 514 from now until the end of November, how cool is that!

Clouds

Justin Baldoni's latest project has him falling in love with Montreal. He and his family have been here for quite some time and will be in our city until the end of the month.

Baldoni is directing the film, which stars Fin Argus, Madison Iseman, Sabrina Carpenter, and Neeve Campbell and recounts the life and death of Zach Sobiech.

Pieces of a Woman

Although this movie hasn’t started filming yet, I still felt the need to share it with our readers! Pieces of a Woman is directed by Kornel Mundruczo and stars Shia Labeouf and Vanessa Kirby.

Although the plot details have not been announced, we do know that they will begin shooting at the start of November and plan to wrap it up at the end of January.

This means we will have plenty of time to spot these two A-list stars roaming throughout our city!
