Best Montreal Bars For First Year Students

20 perfect places for young, cash-conscious Montreal newbies.
Best Montreal Bars For First Year Students
  • Montreal has so many amazing bars, it can be overwhelming! So let us help guide you through your new city.
  • Below you will find great bars for students thanks to their cheap drinks.
  • Looking for a terrasse, pool table, DJ or dive bar? This list has got it all.

So, you're starting university in Montreal this year, and you're wondering where to go for drinks with your friends. Luckily, Montreal has no shortage of fantastic bars.

The following list has bars with great, laid back atmospheres, good music and, most importantly, cheap drinks. They're great places to go if you've got a group of friends - you'll be able to find big tables, sit around and talk all night long - but they'll also be a great place for you to meet new people, too.

These bars are all located pretty close to various universities, so they're perfect for those days when you want to head straight from the library to the bar. We won't judge you if you decide to take a few shots at these places immediately after studying.

We've also included a handful of places that transition perfectly into a club so if you're trying to dress up and get your dance on, there's something for you here, too, don't worry. And we've even made sure we've got a couple places for those who like a little competition while drinking... foosball, pool, even beer pong! So you don't have to host all those beer pong tournies at your house... no more sticky floor. Nice.
