Both Montreal Symphony Orchestras Are Playing Free Outdoor Concerts Tonight

As if there wasn't enough to do in Montreal this summer, here comes another fantastic event that's happeningTONIGHT!

Both major Montreal classical orchestras, the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal (OSM) and the Orchestre Métropolitain (OM) are hosting FREE outdoor concerts! There's nothing like the sounds of classical music as the sun sets on the city.

The OM will be playing at the foot of Mont-Royal, a magical setting for any event. Conductor Yannick Nézet-Séguin will lead the OM through a few well-known songs. Meanwhile, the OSM will assemble at Parc Sorbonne in Brossard to play several incredible movements. It'll be a night you'll never forget!

Both orchestras have been wowing audiences around the world for generations. Of the two, the OSM is the elder statesmen, founded in 1934. The OM was founded in 1981.

The OSM, conducted by Adam Johnson, will dive into several beautiful pieces including Brahms's Hungarian Dances and Gershwin's An American in Paris. The concerts will be presented without intermission, so buckle up and prepare to be amazed.

For more than 80 years, the OSM has been hosting outdoor park concerts during the summer. Last year's concert in Parc Jarry drew a record number of people, so get there early!

The OSM will be playing at Parc Sorbonne at 7:30 PM tonight! Bring a chair or a blanket because this concert is FREE!
