TL;DR  There is a reported gas leak along Sherbrooke West in N.D.G. between Girouard and Old Orchard. Authorities are on the scene for preventative measures.

This is a very trafficked corner of N.D.G. with many bus lines.

Along Girouard, the entrance to the highway and the route to St-Henri makes it one of the busiest stretches of street in N.D.G.

It's not uncommon for people to be stuck in traffic in between Girouard and Old Orchard, so people should stay alert for any potential dangers. Details are murky, but authorities have been dispatch to discover the source of the gas leak.

You may remember in 2017 that Girouard Park (now known as N.D.G. Park) got destroyed by a freak storm. The N.D.G. community reeled at the loss off their beloved park but it's since been successfully revitalized.

Renovation projects have allowed for special events pavilion to open in the park, which has hosted Shakespeare in the Park and N.D.G. Porchfest in the summer months.

Be careful if you have to go to the area this morning. Gas leaks are dangerous and unpredictable. Authorities will be working on this issue throughout the day.

Meanwhile, let's anticipate the arrival of summer in Montreal's beloved N.D.G. Park!
