- Winter is rapidly approaching and we're all in search of our next vacation destination.
- It's so common for Montrealers to make their way to Florida when it gets cold because it's cheap, so we've made a list of other inexpensive places to go to this winter.
- See which countries made the list below!
When the cold begins to take over our city, most Montrealers start looking for their next vacation destination and opt to fly to Florida. There's such a larger Québécois population in Florida that certain restaurants sell Quebec items such as poutine and Du Maurier cigarettes. While walking on Hollywood beach in Florida during the winter, I can promise you that you will hear the all too familiar sounds of Québécois French hit your ear. If that's what you want, go ahead and book that flight to Orlando!
However, some of us like to travel to destinations where we won't run into half of Montreal. If you're one of these people, then I have five new spots for you to consider.
Snowbird is a term used by a lot of Montreal natives. This means that throughout the dreaded winter months, a lot of us Montrealers try to find a place to travel to escape the cold and icy weather conditions that we so bravely live through. Like birds, we want to migrate once it gets cold.
If you require a vacation this winter but find yourself on a somewhat restricted budget, then these five spots are awesome options for you. And, best of all, none of them are in Florida.
