Chill Montreal Bars To Escape To If The Holidays Are Stressing You Out

You're going to need to chill out after this upcoming week!
Chill Montreal Bars To Escape To If The Holidays Are Stressing You Out
  • The holidays are a lot. There's family to see, presents to buy, gifts to wrap and a whole lot more to consider.
  • So if you're feeling like you need an escape and maybe a stiff drink, we're here for you.
  • These are some of the most chill Montreal bars to escape to if the holidays are stressing you out.

The holidays are awesome and spending time with your family is great and all but let’s be real, this time of the year is exhausting. The holidays can drive anyone to drink and in a city that is crawling with bars, it is sometimes hard to pinpoint what bar has the right vibe. After the holiday rush ends, it is important to get back to what really matters and that is drinking in a chill and cozy environment. So look no further, we've got a great selection of chill Montreal bars to escape to if your family is just... too much.

We all know about the hot spot night clubs that offer loud music, annoying drunk people and overpriced bottle services, but not all of us know where those chill and relaxed bars are.

The older I get the more I appreciate drinking alone. That may sound sad and a little pathetic but in reality, it's far from that. I have reached a certain level of comfort and confidence within myself, allowing me to be okay with sipping on a cocktail by myself.

This is why the list of chill bars I made is made up of cool places to either check out solo, with friends or even a date. The options are endless!

These cool bars offer something unique, but they all have providing us with a chill space where we can escape the pressures of the holidays in common.

Where: 436 Rue St-Francois-Xavier

This hidden mezcal and tequila speakeasy feels like a Manhattan hot spot — perfect if you just need to get your head out of Montreal for a few hours.

Here you'll find the alcohol-induced tranquillity you so desperately need.

Where: 901 Rue St-Zotique

Yïsst is one of my more recent discoveries and I'm here to fill you all in on the fact that it's awesome.

The large room is an ideal space to catch up with friends or drink alone with your thoughts — whichever you need.

The music is low enough for you to have a conversation without yelling and loud enough to create an ambience.

And, to top it off, there are a ton of small plates to nosh on and take our brain away from the world outside. So, your mind and stomach will both be satisfied.

Check it out!

Bar Waverly

Where: 5550 Blvd St-Laurent

This hip hangout has one of the chilliest and most laid back vibes in the city. The sleek decor combined with the tasty drinks makes this a great spot to chill out after the holidays.

The candlelit, dim lighting helps you feel right at home
