La Vieille Europe, a refined grocery store on St-Laurent, is blowing out sixty candles today. The Montreal hallmark was established on this day in 1959. Over the years, the store has changed owners and survived fires, and it is now well-known by Plateau residents.

To celebrate its birthday, La Vieille Europe is offering free coffee to everyone who passes by the shop today, along with other discounts and fun surprises. On this grey Tuesday, we could all use a little caffeine boost.

The owners of the store, who have run La Vieille Europe for twenty years, wanted to give back to its clientèle today. All customers today can take advantage of a 15% discount on everything in-store.

The store sells many items that are hard to find elsewhere, such as fresh pasta from Italy, truffle cheese and other niches, as well as imported delicacies.

The store also sells wholesale to well-known restaurants such as Tapeo, Meson, Barroco, Garde-Manger and Ferreira.

The épicerie is also well-known for its coffee and sandwiches prepared on the spot for clients to take on the go.

So today, they are offering free coffee to everyone who passes by the store today - who doesn't like getting a birthday present for someone else's birthday?!
