Drivers, expect big lineups at the tire shop.

Drivers Are Slipping & Sliding All Over Montreal Today

If you need more proof that drivers in Montreal are never prepared for winter, look no further than today's road conditions. In what should've been no surprise to anyone, the first snow (that actually sticks to the ground) of Montreal came a little sooner than we all expected and snuck in during the middle of the night. Though provincial rules stipulate that drivers have until December 1 to change their tires, snow almost always comes before then and creates havoc.

But much like I should've realized in university, a deadline doesn't mean you do something the day before it's due!

Hairy road conditions this morning created traffic jams for drivers across the city. Today's snowy roads claimed their first STM bus this morning.

Highway 30 (South Shore) was especially affected this morning thanks to icy buildup that created chaos on several road exits, according to the Journal de Montreal

CBC News and the Weather Network have confirmed reports that 15 to 20 centimetres of snow are expected to blanket Southern Quebec over the next couple of days.

Today is only an appetizer as snow is expected to intensify overnight and into Tuesday morning. Some parts of the Eastern Townships will see over 25 centimetres once all is said and done.

Photos sent to us by MTL Blog reader @paulgodawa show a 57 bus that was a little askew this morning thanks to winter.

No one was hurt (save for wounded pride) and even though these photos are not quite at the same level as that famous ice hill video or that one time everyone had to help unstuck a bus in a blizzard, they are quite entertaining.

As you can see, the bus kinda skidded into a median and like, totally blocked the bike path, man. How am I supposed to get to class now, bus?!

The bus slid out on the corner of Wellington and de la Congregation in Pointe-Saint-Charles. For those who know the area, you know that that the Pointe Wellington underpass is notorious for fender benders and bike accidents.

Now, I understand the complaints about the snow, but c'mon people, we all knew this was coming.

I'll admit that I'm not yet mentally prepared for the winter, despite talking tough. But we're Montrealers and we can handle anything!

It might seem like yesterday it was 35 degrees with humidity but we're a city of extremes so get with it, ok?

(This is me trying to pump everyone up, is it working?)

And look, if you're tired of hearing about the snow and seeing everyone's Instagram stories about it, throw out your phone for the next few days because that's all you're gonna get, folks.

Remember, in only 5 more months, we'll be complaining about how hot it is!

Drivers, get on changing your tires ASAP, please.
