It seems as though everyone has been on a health kick lately, which is great. However, like many young Montrealers, I enjoy few things more than going to a pub with some friends and hanging out.
Sadly, when it comes to pub food, we all know the struggle of trying to find healthy food and drink options.
Thankfully, Le Black & Blond Pub located in the Rosemont area takes pub food to new heights with their unique “diet” cocktails.
This splendid location has an easygoing and unassuming vibe, which makes you feel right at home.
Inside, you can expect to find peanut- and gluten-free meals, a cold-pressed juice and smoothie bar, a coffee corner and a wide rage of local beers and house approved wines. They even have a list of “diet” house cocktails to pick from.
Some of their menu items include: a quinoa and salmon bowl, a breakfast sandwich, spring rolls, a chicken taco salad and a vegetable and avocado dip made to share.
However, it is their drinks that truly get me excited. They have an Apérol Spritz that substitutes soda with sparkling water, saving 53 calories per 100ml.
They also have Le Bloody BB, which is a classic Bloody only better for you. But my personal favourite is the T’as la pêche, a drink that combines vodka, ginger, lemon, and peach flavoured sparkling water.
If you don’t feel like having alcohol, this drink without liquor is an excellent antioxidant as well as a great anti-inflammatory.
The owner’s motto is “a healthy mind in a healthy body” and that is exactly you should expect when you decide to go to this one of a kind location. At Black & Blond Pub santé they strip products down to the basics and serve natural, balanced meals with fresh ingredients.
This is an ideal place to relax, enjoy a drink, or even work and study. Get-together with friends or even grab a drink with colleagues.
The laid-back environment, bright interior, and scrumptious healthy meals will keep you coming back for more.
