The Home Alone Reboot Plot Will Reportedly Be Very Different From The 1990 Original
  • Although many people have been hoping the Home Alone reboot's plot would involve a new Kevin getting lost in Montreal, it seems this will not be the case.
  • This new version is said to be very different from the original Home Alone from 1990.
  • Read everything we know about the new film's plot below!

As most of you know, the Home Alone reboot is filming in and around Montreal. I'm super excited about this movie however, I have been a little nervous because of how much I love the original. Home Alone is one of those flawless films that you couldn't possibly re-create, which is why I was happy to hear that the reboot would be completely different from its original.

I'm one of those movie watchers who are skeptical of remakes however, something tells me that this one is going to be good, especially since it's being filmed right here in Montreal.

The cast is already a killer combination. It's known that Ellie Kemper, Archie Yates, and Rob Delaney will star in the Disney+ reboot of the film. The script was written by Mikey Day, and Dan Mazer is said to be the one calling the shots as director.

Archie Yates, who everyone believed will be taking over the role of Kevin, will apparently not be playing this iconic role, according to Variety. The lead character he plays will be a brand new person.

Yates will be playing a mischievous nine-year-old named Max who is full of personality and an ability to push the buttons of his elders, according to The Observer.

Max is set to steal from a husband and wife, and the plot will involve the couple deciding to retaliate against him and get their revenge.

Looks like it's bye, bye forever to little Kevin (and Macaulay Culkin).

I'm expecting to see some bad guys, some booby traps, an iconic delivery scene and hopefully a fake party or two. And, of course, some shots of Montreal.

Would it even be a Montreal-filmed movie if we didn't catch a glimpse of Saint-Joseph's Oratory?

Many people believed that Kemper and Delaney would be playing the young man's parents, but it's been rumoured that they will be playing the other two important roles in the film.

I am assuming (and hoping) that Kemper and Delaney will be just as mischevious as the kid is set out to be.

We'll just have to wait until the film comes out to see what part they'll play!

If you spot any of the cast members filming throughout the city, make sure to snap a picture and let us know on Instagram or Twitter. Believe me when I say we've been keeping our eyes peeled.

I'm positive that I'm not the only person who is impatiently waiting for this movie to be ready for viewing. Until then, I promise to keep you updated with 411. Remember, we are in this together.
