IKEA Is Throwing A Crawfish All-You-Can-Eat Buffet Party And You're Invited

They're bringing Swedish culture to Canada and you don't have to put it together yourself.

I'm not sure what is going on with IKEA these days, but I like it. Last week they surprised us with news about an IKEA House Party held at their giant Montreal warehouse. Now, this week they are hosting a crayfish party?

And this isn't any ordinary crayfish party (is there even such a thing?). It's an all you can eat buffet of crayfish, salads, salmon, and desserts and of course, IKEA's famous meatballs.

So get out those elastic waist pants and get ready to party yourself into a happy little seafood coma.

IKEA is hosting the parties all around Canada and will be coming to Montreal on August 14th.  It's better to get your tickets now though, they really are going fast. Ottawa has already sold out

There will be hot and cold food tables and of course Swedish entertainment to boot. If you happened to have spent a lot of time in places like Louisiana, you may be wondering what exactly a crayfish's exactly the same as a crawfish

It turns out the Crayfish Party is a traditional Nordic event held every August, at the height of crayfish season. The tradition, also known as kräftskiva (which could very well be the name of a kitchen stool), began in Sweden, so it actually does make sense that the Swedish furniture giant is bringing it to Canada

You can get your tickets at the IKEA restaurant in-stores for only $22.99

The good part is if you do eat too much, at least you have access to a selection of beds and couches to nap on. Though I'm guessing the workers at IKEA may frown upon that...
