Montrealers know how to set fire to a dance floor, but sometimes that fact can get way too real. Such was the case for local influencer Beatrice Bouchard, who celebrated her 26th birthday with a party at Old Montreal's Auberge Saint-Gabriel. The '70s-inspired bash, themed "Disco Never Dies," brought out some pretty incredible period outfits among the crowd of her friends and fans. It also unfortunately led to a pretty painful accident involving sparkles.

On Thursday, the twin sister of famous Quebec tennis player Eugénie Bouchard published photos of some serious-looking facial wounds to her Instagram story.

The two pictures show several burn marks across her upper lip and left cheek, just inches from her eye.

"ps- don't dance with sparklers," Bouchard warns her followers in one of the images.

The marks and, it looks like, healing balm, left her feeling "hella fre$h!!!" she wrote ironically. But, fortunately, the wounds didn't last long.

In her latest update, Bouchard shows that her "face is healing well."

Any lasting marks are indiscernible in her subsequent Insta posts.

It doesn't look like the accident spoiled her birthday party evening too badly, either.

On Instagram, she shared photos of the event, showing herself in a funky blue two-piece outfit embroidered with flowers and covered in glitter.

Narcity Québec contacted Beatrice for more details on the accident but has yet to receive a response.

This article will be updated when we receive a statement.

Luckily, Bouchard's sparkler experience wasn't too serious.

But it does serve as a lesson for Montrealers:

It is, indeed, possible for a party to be too lit.
