It's Official, Douglas Booth Is Coming To Montreal To Film A New Movie This Summer

English actor Douglas Booth, renowned for his roles on "Jupiter Ascending", "Romeo & Juliet", "Great Expectations," and "The Dirt" is officially coming to Montreal this summer to shoot a new movie! Hollywood's latest heartthrob will be in town until June 29th.

The film, titled, "My Salinger Year", tells the story of a college grad who takes a clerical job with writer J.D. Salinger. Based on a best-selling memoirof the same name, the film follows Joanna Ratkoff, an author who was tasked with answering J.D. Salinger's fan mail.

The film also stars the legendary Sigourney Weaver, Margaret Qualley of HBO's "The Leftovers", and Colm Feore of "Bon Cop Bad Cop" fame.

"My Salinger Year" has a special Quebecois connection as well. The movie is being directed by Philippe Falardeau, director of renowned Oscar-nominated film "Monsieur Lazhar".

"My Salinger Year" marks one of Falardeau's first Hollywood films that he's shooting in his home province. ACTRA is, in fact, casting background actors for the film until tomorrow.

The film ends pre-production on Wednesday and is expected to begin shooting sometime in the coming week. This could be your chance to catch a glimpse of Hollywood's newest go-to guy before he becomes too famous to touch!

Douglas Booth reached mainstream status after a role in "Jupiter Ascending". His portrayal of rock star Nikki Sixx of Mötley Crüe in "The Dirt" has been hailed as one of his best acting roles ever.

It's not clear as to what role he'll be playing in the upcoming "My Salinger Year". Sigourney Weaver and Margaret Qualley are playing the leading roles.

The film tells the story of Joanna Ratkoff (Qualley) who was hired in the late-90s to transcribe J.D. Salinger's fan mail. Ratkoff begins adding her personal touch to the letters and discovers her own voice as a writer.

Booth recently appeared in roles on "The Dirt", "Mary Shelley", and "Loving Vincent". The English actor will be in Montreal until June 29th, so keep your eyes peeled!

The film is produced by Luc Déry and Kim McCraw, the team behind Denis Villeneuve's renowned films "Incendies" and "Enemy," so everything indicates it's going to be a great movie.

Montreal is one of the best cities ever for celebrity spotting, especially in the summer! Check out who was just recently here for Festival MetroMetro!

For all you aspiring paparazzi, please be respectful and don't snap pictures of unsuspecting celebrities! And definitely, don't ruin a shoot. Selfies while they order coffee though? That's probably fine.
