Local purveyor of all things chocolate, dessert-like, and all-around gluttonous, Juliette & Chocolat, will be fulfilling our wildest February fantasies and giving away its latest brownie concoction — the crème brûlée brownie — for three days next month. If you're already a fan of the restaurant's sweets, this is an opportunity to take the taste to another level, since a free brownie is always the best brownie.
On February 7, 8, and 9, the Juliette & Chocolat Plateau and Outremont locations will be handing out its take of the French classic.
Traditionally the dessert is made of a custard base with a layer of hardened caramelized sugar on top. True to form, this brownie will be the perfect marriage of a dark chocolate brownie topped with a layer of crème brûlée.
The brand-new brownie sells for $5.25. So if you can make it to one of the locations taking part in the giveaway, you can be one of the first to sample the creation without spending a cent.
Alas, there is only one brownie per person (though in theory, you could travel to both stores if you're really motivated). But one free brownie is better than no free brownies — especially when they look this delicious.
Most likely the brownie giveaway is a ploy to introduce fans not only to its newest, mouth-watering dessert addition but also to its newly released Valentine’s Day collection.
And that is a promotional ploy I can fully get behind.
The Valentine's collection is an assortment of adorable chocolate bears, brightly wrapped ganache hearts, and bite-size bear and penguin brownie lollipops. There are even chocolate lipsticks, for when you would rather eat your makeup than apply it.
The collection is only available for a limited time.
If you want to take advantage of the free crème brûlée brownie, you will have a lot of time. Both participating store locations open at 11 a.m. every day and close midnight on Friday and Saturday. They do close one hour earlier on Sundays at 11 p.m.
While the brownies may be free, you still may want to bring your wallet. It's nearly impossible to leave this restaurant without grabbing a few extra things or warming up with a hot chocolate.
