It is likely not news to you that Quebec's very own Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, McGill med school grad and the first active NFL player to become an M.D., is now able to call himself a Super Bowl Champion. The Kansas City Chiefs bested the San Fransisco 49ers last weekend at Super Bowl LIV, making Laurent Duvernay-Tardif the first-ever Quebec-born Super Bowl Champion in history. You may have also heard that his family's pizza shop in Little Italy created a pizza in his honour to celebrate the big day. But I bet you didn't know that you can actually party with the Super Bowl champion Laurent Duvernay-Tardif right here in Montreal this weekend... for free!
Yes, it's true. A representative from the City of Montreal reached out to MTL Blog today to let us know that a party would be going down this weekend at Parc Jean Drapeau.
Entrance is free and the party will take place at the new Espace 67 where the Fête des Neiges is currently set up.
In addition to the man himself, Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, you'll also get to fêter with Montreal mayor Valérie Plante and the whole event will be hosted by Kevin Raphaël, creator of the Le Kevin Raphaël Show, a French late-night sports and comedy show.

Doors open at 1:30 p.m. and because it's free, it is probably safe to assume you'll want to get there early.

Mayor Plante might very well be Duvernay-Tardif's biggest fan (after his mom, I guess) and shared these adorable pictures of the two of them on the day of the Super Bowl.
The caption reads, "Tonight, Montreal and Quebec will shine at the NFL Super Bowl thanks to this extraordinary being, who is so inspiring for all of us. Tonight, we're behind you, Laurent Duvernay-Tardif! Go, Chiefs 🏈🙌."
