6 Montreal Bars That Offer Real Happy Hour Deals So You Can Have The Perfect 5 À 7
  • New restaurants pop up in Montreal all the time, but not all of them have the thing we look for most on a menu: happy hour deals. This is why MTL Blog has created a list of places in Montreal with real happy hour deals!
  • Spoiler alert: a few of these bars offer a 2 for 1 special after 5 p.m.
  • Find out where to get real deals around Montreal during the happy hour below!

Quebec has been ranked the happiest province in Canada for many reasons, maybe because of Montreal's many cool restaurants, or because of the beautiful landscapes in small Quebec towns. Or, Maybe your mind instantly went to the bad stuff, like our 5 to 6 months of winter, our orange zone culture, or our constant language debates. Well, according to statistics, these things haven't stopped us Quebecois from feeling la joie de vivre.

The whole "it's 5 o'clock somewhere" lives on in most of us, especially those who are always thinking about being somewhere else. But the best is when it's actually 5 o'clock and you don't need to hold back on your eagerness to start cutting off some steam.

The truth is, we're always looking for somewhere to go to have a simple happy hour drink with our friends, but with the thousands of choices in Montreal, we can get overwhelmed.

I've done my best to narrow down the list by creating a list of bars in Montreal with actual happy hour deals - because 5 à 7s can happen anywhere, but there are only a few places where you can actually save a dollar or two while celebrating.

On this list, we've left options for everyone, from the fancy 5 à 7ers to the simple I-wanna-hang-with-my-friends happy hour-ers - so no matter what your style is, we found happy hour deals to match it!

Sir Winston Churchill Pub / Winnie's

Where: 1455 Rue Crescent

When: 4:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. - 7 days a week

Crescent may seem like the outdated street to most of us Montrealers, where our parents lived out their prime days but we have little interest in going to. Well, their house wine, beers, and speed rail drinks are two for one from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. - so you may want to rethink your Crescent prejudice!

The best part? Since Crescent remains one of Montreal's go-to tourist spots, there's a good chance you'll meet people from other places in the world in you go! Yes, happy hour is universal.

Where: 3581 Blvd St Laurent

When: 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

If you're looking for some real deal cocktails, Suwu is your spot.

Although at a usual time its cocktails may seem a little pricey, this thought falls out the window when you start getting two for the price of one. Their beer on tap is also 2 for 1, just in case that's more your thing. While getting your drink on, you can also indulge in some fancy bar bites.

Méchant Boeuf Bar-Brasserie

Where: 124 Rue Saint-Paul O

When: 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.

At Méchant Boeuf Bar-Brasserie, you can eat and drink for cheaper during 5 à 7 from Sundays to Thursdays. During these two hours, $1 oysters are everyone's go-to.

And if you're celebrating your happy hour(s) with a group of people, their $30 sangria pitchers are a perfect choice. I don't know about you, but sangria reminds me of summer and warmer days, so drinking some during the winter is my way of dealing with the cold!

Mezcaleros Tapas & Cocktails

Where: 5834 Park Ave

When: All night on Wednesdays

Mezcaleros Tapas & Cocktails hands down serves some of the best cocktails in the city. And when it comes to happy hour, they understand the concept of "Wet Wednesday." On Wednesdays, you can get $6 cocktails right up until closing time.

With their delicious drink menu and many tapas options, your sure to have a satisfied stomach after leaving.

Where: 1219 Rue Crescent

When: 5 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Yup, you guessed it - another Cresent location! I'm starting to think this street way be the go-to place for happy hour deals, no matter what connotations are usually aligned with the street. But, $5 drinks at happy hour!

If you're into beer, Brutopia, as its name suggests, is literally a utopia for brews. What they serve on tap changes by the week, so you can try something new every time you go back. Also, there is hummus and pita on their food menu, which sold me.

Casa del Popolo

Where: 4873 Blvd Saint Laurent

When: Happy hour goes all night on Mondays & Tuesdays

During happy hour, this cute Plateau-Mile End spot has pints of beer for just $5.50. So, if you're looking for a simple place to just chill with your friends after work, put Casa del Popolo on your go-to list.

There are also live shows every night that start between 7 and 8 p.m., just in case you're looking for an extra experience after your happy hour adventures.
