Montreal Construction Worker Apparently Just Painted Over Road Debris Instead Of Moving It

Some readers submitted a hilarious photo to MTL Blog that we think very well demonstrates the unfortunate state of Montreal construction. The photo appears to show a botched paint job. Indeed, it seems like constrcution workers painted road demarcations over a lone hubcap instead of moving.

The photo, submitted by Michael Marchetta, was taken by Mike Poli on ave. Dr. Penfield, just past rue University, says Michael.

Though the circumstances of the paint job are unclear and we don't know whether these road demarcations are permanent or temporary, the result is a tragically typical Montreal image.

Even the most hardened Montrealers have their breaking points when it comes to endless construction mishaps. I think this is mine. I'm not sure whether this photo makes me want to laugh or cry.

Sure, I can deal with endless detours, months-long construction work and all of the other inconveniences that come along with construction.

However, I would expect that, since road work often takes so long, the work would be done correctly. Or, at the very least, debris the size of a pizza would be removed so that the paint lines could be drawn on properly.

This is not the only time that Montreal construction has made headlines this week. Earlier this week, Ciara posted the most "MTL" photo ever during her time in the city.

The singer, who was here for Pride celebrations, posed in front of a medley of orange cones, with "No Parking" and "Detour" signs just visible in the background.

On the bright side, I've been told that the solitary hubcap, which has felt very lonely ever since being abandonned by the rest of the car, feels that this new paint job has lifted his spirits.

He is now ready to go back out into the world with confidence after that traumatising breakup with his last car.

For the record, MTL Blog has not independently verified this unfortunate paint job.

There are stories everywhere. If you spot a newsworthy event in Montreal, send us a message, photo, or video @MTLBlog on Twitter and Instagram.
