Another Exo Commuter Train Line To Montreal Has Just Been Blocked By Protestors

Exo Line 3 to Mont-Saint-Hilaire is cancelled for an indeterminate amount of time due to protests. Train 811, direction Montreal, has been cancelled as of 1:45 p.m. Train 808, direction Mont-Saint-Hilaire at Saint-Lambert station and on is also stopped as of 12:45 p.m.
Train 808 has been blocked at Saint-Lambert station for nearly an hour and is making its way back to downtown Montreal as soon as possible. Commuters are advised to find alternative modes of public transit such as local buses or the metro.
Exo tells MTL Blog that it suspects the protests is a Wet'suwet'en solidarity event, which would make Line 3 the second exo commuter line affected by Wet'suwet'en solidarity protests. Last week, protestors barricaded the exo 4 Candiac line that goes through Kahnawake territory.
Both local and national commuter train lines have been affected as VIA rail cancelled all services along the Toronto-Ottawa-Montreal corridor.
Wet'suwet'en solidarity protests have moved into the city, as well. Protestors formed a human chain on rue Sherbrooke on Monday, blocking vehicle traffic.
The provincial and federal governments are looking for solutions to an escalating situation that has paralyzed Canada's national railway lines.
First Nations communities across the country have stood in solidarity with B.C.'s Wet'suwet'en Nation, who are resisting the construction of an oil pipeline through traditional, unceded lands. The tense situation was escalated after the RCMP forcefully arrested Indigenous protestors.
At the time of writing, the train line is still shut down.
Service has been interrupted for an indeterminate amount of time in both directions on the exo 3 train line.
