Montreal Influencer Alex Centomo Is Having Her First Child & Sharing Her Labour Experience

Montreal influencer Alex Centomo has been open about her pregnancy with her over one million Instagram followers, regularly posting updates and photos since she first shared the news in October. Now in her 41st week, she has checked in to the hospital and is documenting her experience. "I'm in labour!" she announced via a pre-recorded YouTube video.
"I'm so excited! I can't believe my life is about to change."
She also opened up about the additional pressures the pandemic has presented.
"There were a few days of high stress," she admits. "I've come to terms with a lot of things."
Centomoย previously sharedย that her hospital had initially banned expecting mothers from bringing partners to accompany them.
The hospital later reversed the decision.
Her husband, Daniel Jensen, appears alongside her in her May 1 labour updates. Both are masked.
"Crunch time @alexcentomoyou are a champion, 14 hours already and going strong. Can't wait to meet our little guy," Jensen wrote on Instagram.
At 5:30 a.m. on May 1, Centomo shared that her water broke in the night. Doctors stopped administering Cervidil, which induces labour, and her contractions then became "intense."
But she assured followers that after receiving an epidural she was "feeling amazing" and that her "labour [was] moving along smoothly and healthy."

"Let's do this. So excited to meet you!" she captioned a subsequent Instagram post.
She later explained that she had been experiencing pain in her back despite the epidural, a feeling her doctors told her is "normal when you dilate quickly."
In her last update posted around 2:00 p.m., she says she "took a nice long nap and [is] going to try to sleep some more to try to keep [her] energy up for later."

Centomo concluded the YouTube video with a promise to try to continue to capture the moment on camera.
"But it really depends on how everything goes," she says.
"If I don't end up getting any footage, I'm still going to be filming a birth story and explaining how everything went."
