The Plateau Mont-Royal in the summertime equals parks, beers, food, and lots of walking. Despite its high rent, no parking, and annoying tourists, the Plateau has an undeniable charm that makes you want to go there.
Personally, I love the Plateau for its variety of shops and bars, not to mention how easy it is to get around.
The Plateau also has an incredible lineup of street festivals that happen in the summer, much to the delight of everyone. The first one of these is "La foire commerciale de l'été" or the Mont-Royal Avenue sidewalk sale!
From May 30th to June 2nd, the Mont-Royal Avenue sidewalk sale will take over the popular commercial thoroughfare. With DJs, activities, food, and plenty of shopping, the sale is the perfect way to kick off the summer!
There are plenty of activities for both adults and kids so no one will feel left out! The street will be closed off starting at 10AM for the four days that the event is on.
DJs will start at around 4PM over the four days. There will be six DJs spinning awesome summer tunes while you shop, eat and drink! Sounds exciting!
If DJs aren't your thing, there are plenty of awesome activities that you can take advantage of. New for this year, there's a section where you and your friends can shoot your own short movies with a team of professional comedians!
The Mont-Royal Avenue sidewalk sale will also have a kid's section with a mini-golf course, a bouncy castle, an obstacle course, and free face painting.
Since this is a sidewalk sale, there will be plenty of shopping. Vendors along Mont-Royal will be selling their wares street side with deals that won't break the bank. There will be plenty of food and drink as well!
