There are not many cities in the world that do food as good as Montreal does. We love eating it, we love making it and we love throwing events that revolve around it.

Though summer is coming to an end, the celebration of food goes on!

This month, the Martinique Tourism Committee is hosting Martinique Gourmande, and if you are a food lover, this is the event for you.

The event will take place between September 19 and 29, 2019 in a "Creole Village," located in the heart of the Grand-Place complex.

For its 12th anniversary, the Tourism committee wanted to do something big, which is why they decided to gather four phenomenal Martinique chefs for a festival of food from the French Caribbean island.

The masterful chefs are Fabrice Filin, who is a “baker-chocolatier, sugar-free specialist,” Pascal Sigere, Matthieu Jolly and Jeremie Jean-Baptiste, a "home chef and bakery Trainer."

"Martinique has a charm of its own, both typically French and deeply Caribbean in its gastronomy, its rums, its culture, not to mention its sweetness of life and its beautiful hospitality. It has everything you need to please you," the event website reads.

The festive event will allow visitors to spoil themselves and indulge in some tasty flavours and bright colours.

There will be not only a slew of delectable foods but also an amazing mixology team thanks to rums Saint-James. For those of you looking to burn off some calories throughout the day, there will be live music and Martinican dance.

With more than forty restaurants and bars participating in the festival, you are going to want to come hungry.

Some of the establishments you will be able to try out at the event include Venice MTL, Boho, Osteria de Elda, Restaurant 3734, Whiskey Café, among many more.

But "beyond cooking, it's a way of life will meet Quebecers during this gastronomic festival, to give them a taste of their next vacation in Martinique!"

Indeed, to make the event even more exciting, there will be a huge contest. All festival-goers will get the opportunity to win a trip for two to Martinique…how amazing is that?
