Montreal Is Hosting A Free Cabane À Sucre Festival Next Month

Montreal has had one of the most hectic months of weather in recent memory. Alternating periods of extreme cold and above-freezing temperatures have made the city an at-time slushy, at-time icy mess.

This exhausting pattern has Montrealers desperately looking forward to the more stable weather of spring.

But let's not wish for a premature end to winter weather just yet, Montreal, good things are yet to come! The city's wintry festivities are in full swing!

Take for example La Cabane Panache et Bois Rond in the Montreal borough of Verdun taking place next month!

TL;DR La Cabane Panache et Bois Rond is coming back for its 9th edition between March 21st and 24th, 2019 in the Montreal borough of Verdun. A link to the event website is at the bottom of this article.

The "free cabane À sucre" festival, branded as "an urban lumberjack party," is "the biggest and free-est maple festival in Quebec," according to its website.

The 9th version of the festival will take place between March 21st and 24th — it's the perfect way to welcome the new season. Hopefully the weather will still be wintry but warm enough to enjoy everything the festival has to offer.

There will also be dozens of musical performances, interactive activities, and spectacles, including, of course, maple taffy rolled on the snow.

If the photos from last year's event are any indication, there will be tons of tasty treats to sample (or buy in bulk).

The entire festival is a quirky celebration of Quebec culture!

We can't wait for March!
