Montreal Is Hosting A Giant New Music Festival At The Olympic Stadium In 2019

Rolling Loud is to hip hop fans what Coachella is to indie music fans, or what Sonar is to electronic music fans. The festival even dubs itself "the largest hip hop festival in the world." It takes place every year in Miami during the month of May.

That said, although Canada isn't the first place that pops into you're head when you think of destinations for world-renowned music festivals, we do have Osheaga; which has definitely gained traction on a Canadian scale over the years.

TL;DR A brand-new hip hop and rap music festival Called "Métro Métro" is about to come to Montreal. The festival will be held over the weekend of May 18th and 19th, 2019 at the Sun Life Esplanade of the Olympic Stadium. The line-up will be officially announced in January.

We also have some smaller but significant local music festivals like Igloo fest, Piknic Electronik, Mutek, Murale Fest, and Festival Santa Teresa which have flown in and brought to the Montreal stage some serious international talent and preformers. These festivals might not be household names like Rolling Loud, Sonar, or Coachella, but they have a lot of heart.

To add to this ever-growing list of thriving Montreal music festivals, a brand-new festival called "Métro Métro" is about to hit Montreal, and this one — similar to Rolling Loud — will be focused on hip hop and rap artists.

The festival will be held over the weekend of May 18th and 19th, 2019. It will take place on two stages at the Sun Life Esplanade of the Olympic Stadium from noon to 11 pm.

The organizers of the festival have just released this exciting information to hype up the event. At this time, they are teasing fans with the actual line-up and details of the festival, which will ony be released sometime in January 2019.

Considering the massive and iconic location of the festival, the Olympic Stadium, hopefully the organizers of "Métro Métro" will have some big names to bring into town.
