  • Kampaï Montreal is a sake festival that features over 180 kinds of sake!
  • There will also be a selection of Japenese food for participants to enjoy.
  • Tickets go on sale September 30th.

It's early October and you've been wearing a jacket for about a week. Any hopes of a lingering summer are slowly fading into memory as the days grow shorter and a chill permeates the evening wind. But not all is lost because Montreal is still alive with incredible festivals!

What better way to fend off a chilly October night than warming your bones with some of the finest Japanese sake you can drink? If you've never had it before, sake is a rice wine, served warmed or chilled (depending on the wine). Sake has a very unique flavour that either runs sweet or dry. It's punchy too, with a 16% ABV content.

Festival Kampaï Montreal is one of those classic Montreal celebrations, showcasing over 180 different types of sake, along with a selection of Japanese food that pairs perfectly with a cup of sake!

Happening Thursday, October 10th, 2019, the Festival Kampaï Montreal's second edition is expected to be even bigger than last year's!

Hundreds of people were there to sample incredible sake and eat awesome food. This year, expect much more than that!

With over 180 sakes to sample, the Festival Kampaï Montreal is shaping up to be amazing!

The festival will also feature delicious Japanese food like sushi and grilled meats, along with so much more!

Tickets will be on sale starting September 1st! Last year, tickets were $50-$70 bucks and came with 15 drink coupons. Prices haven't been released yet.

The Festival Kampaï Montreal is sponsored by the Association Saké Québec (ASQ), an organization founded in 2017 whose main "goal is to promote and educate about the culture and enjoyment of sake in a responsible way."

Quebec has many sake importers and the ASQ aims to bring them under one banner.

It seems like the Festival Kampaï Montreal will be an annual tradition to celebrate the wonder that is sake!

Mark your calendars and don't miss out on this awesome autumn festival in Montreal!
