Full disclosure to you tea lovers — this article is written by a staunch coffee drinker.
Don't get me wrong, there's nothing like a warm cup of tea on a chilly evening but coffee has my heart. Don't hold it against me though, because tea lovers are about to get a huge festival dedicated to their favourite beverage!
The Festival du thé is coming to Montreal at Marché Bonsecours for the first time ever this October! Tea lovers in Montreal will finally have their own festival dedicated to all things tea. More than 40 local tea masters and artisans will gather for a whole day of conferences, tastings, and of course, a huge marketplace.
Tickets are only $15 and will grant you access to a multitude of all-day events. Anyone who's already a tea lover or wants to find out more about that delicious drink is welcome to the Festival du thé!
This humble coffee drinker might indeed be converted after this festival!
As it's the first time they've ever had this event in Montreal, and you should expect the unexpected. For only one Saturday, the Festival du thé will host a plethora of conferences and workshops for those who want to know more about the ancient beverage.
There will also be a huge marketplace where you can sample and purchase fine teas, snacks, tea accessories, and other artisanal products such as kombucha and pottery.
For over 100 years, the Marché Bonsecours has been one of Montreal's main public markets. What better setting to celebrate the wonders of tea! Perfect date, too, since autumn is the perfect time for tea.
Tea culture is huge all around the world. To be honest, I'm surprised it took this long to have a tea festival in Montreal. Considering we have a festival for almost everything, I figure tea would've been at the top of the list!
Mark your calendars, people! Don't miss out on Montreal's first-ever Festival du thé!
