This Montreal Museum Is Hosting An 18+ Halloween Escape Game In Old Sewers & Cemeteries

I officially know what I'm doing for Halloween.
Montreal Museum 18+ Halloween Escape Game In Old Sewers & Cemeteries
  • The Pointe-à-Callière Montreal museum is hosting an 18+ Halloween escape game in some of the city's old sewers and ruins.
  • Participants will have to solve a mystery surrounding Montreal's cursed governor.
  • Be sure to wear your Halloween costume! There will be a contest.

Pointe-à-Callière Museum plays hosts to many events during the summer, like the ever-popular 18th-century market held in the Old Port. But this October they are rolling out something new, possibly even better, and definitely a whole lot spookier.

For the first time ever, the museum will be hosting a Halloween event unlike any Montreal has seen and it will take place on one night only, October 31.

Teaming up with escape room pros, Échappe-toi Montréal, the museum is organizing an giant escape game taking place among Montreal's archaeological remains. The game will bring participants to the ruins of Ville-Marie’s first Catholic cemetery, through a stone vaulted tunnel, the mysterious and majestic collector sewer, and over a glass floor overlooking the remains of Fort Ville-Marie.

The evening will begin in the hall of the museum where guests can meet and relax with a drink and listen to some music before the real action starts.

Guests have one hour to solve the different mysteries surrounding the legacy of Montreal’s cursed governor.

Of course, to add to the overall eerie ambiance, this will all take place at night. It's basically a real-life escape game, and it sounds freakin' awesome.

The partnership between Pointe-à-Callière Museum Échappe-toi Montréal is a first. And honestly, what an ideal team for a night of adventure. Échappe-toi Montréal prides itself on creating escape games that are totally immersive and based on the history of Montreal. So combining forces with the archaeological museum should bring a whole new level to the experience.

And in case you and your team really want to get into the Halloween spirit, guests are encouraged to come in costumes. So you can channel your inner Sherlock Holmes or Indiana Jones while searching for clues in dark, dank tunnels.

There will be a costume contest, so don't skimp on the details.

The museum is keeping a lot of the details under lock and key for the moment, which only adds to the excitement. As the days get closer to the night of the event, more details will become available.

The cost for the event has yet to be revealed but a spokesman for Pointe-à-Callière assured us that it will be affordable.

Since there will be alcohol, you must be 18 years and older to attend.

Spaces are limited and by the sounds of it, will go quickly. So make sure to keep an eye out on their Facebook page for regular updates.
