  • When it comes to things to do in Montreal, you can never overlook our amazing museums and public gardens.
  • This week at the Museum of Fine Arts it's your last chance to see Thierry Mugler: Couturissme.
  • Scroll to the bottom of this article for opening hours.

No matter the season, Montreal always has an endless supply of things to do, from the Botanical Gardens to sidewalk sales and countless hubs of art and culture that are worth visiting, whether you're a local or a tourist.

One such example is the acclaimed exhibit that has been gracing out Museum of Fine Arts for months now with stunning couture fashions, designed by French fashion mogul, Thierry Mugler.

Thierry Mugler: Couturissime highlights the decades-long career of Mugler, including his own photography alongside fashions he has created for the stage, screen and runway.

The exhibit started in March and has now reached its final week in Montreal. In fact, this week is already an extension of the regularly planned completion of the exhibit which they extended due to "resounding success of the retrospective."

Having seen the exhibit myself, I can assure you: it is worth every penny and is without a doubt something you want to see while our city's museum is still hosting it.

Take a look at some of the photos below... but know that they don't even begin to do the exhibit justice.

The retrospective looks back at Mugler's impressive career with insight into costume work for productions like Macbeth in one room and Celine Dion in the next.

One of my favourite rooms features multiple screens that showcase Mugler's fashions in music videos for artists from David Bowie to Beyonce.

Each room of the exhibit perfectly engulfs visitors in the world of Mugler at each stage of his creative life.

There are over 150 garments that span the years from 1977 to 2014, some which the museum indicates are "being shown for the first time."

Throughout the exhibit, you'll also be taking in the world-renowned photography of famous photographers like Helmut Newton, David LaChapelle, Paolo Roversi, and more.

But honestly, whether you're a fashion lover or not, this exhibit is extremely fun to wander through even just to play the game of "Pick Your Favourite."

If you've not yet been, I highly recommend you grab a pal and head over some time this week.

You'll be surprised how many looks you recognize and the number of music videos you grew up with that feature Mugler's iconic fashions.
