Montreal Police Have Released New Details About The Stabbing In The Plateau This Morning

At 5:15 AM this morning, Montreal police responded to a 911 call about an attempted murder that occurred on the corner of Henri-Julien and Boucher in the Plateau

According to the official report, police found an unconscious 54-year-old man with severe injuries on his upper body. The SPVM's spokesperson Veronique Dubuc confirms that the injuries were caused by a "sharp object."

The victim was rushed to the hospital and his condition is currently unknown. This apparent stabbing is the third such violent incidents that occurred last night in Montreal

Police found one perpetrator near the scene, a 62-year-old who is currently in police custody

The SPVM says that the two men knew each other. The reason for their dispute is currently unknown. Police don't have any further details about the victim or the perpetrator. 

Investigators are still on scene, therefore the intersections between Henri-Julien and Laurier are closed. Drivers and residents, please beware of any detours.

In a separate incident, an 18-year-old man died of his injuries after a stabbing incident at the corner of de Maisonneuve and Saint-Laurent. No one has been arrested yet.

Saint-Laurent Metro Station is still closed. 

At 11 PM, another man was stabbed at the corner of Sainte-Catherine and Saint-Christophe. The 39-year-old victim is in stable condition. Police say there is no indication that the two incidents are related.
