100km/h Winds & Storm Damage Have Some Wondering If Halloween Should Be Postponed Again

- Mayor Plante decided to postpone Halloween in Montreal until November 1 due to bad weather forecasts on October 31. Although this didn't stop some from braving the weather, others who did wait it out are now confused since today's weather is just as bad - if not worse.

Halloween has been a whirlwind in Montreal this year, and I mean that quite literally. Mayor Plante made the executive decision to postpone Halloween festivities in Montreal for one day because of the extreme weather warnings that were being called for October 31. It didn't stop some kids from braving the weather, but Plante postponed many people's favourite holiday for the safety of the children, which is a fair thing to do - although many didn't seem to think so.
Now, here we are, on the new Halloween day, and the winds sound like they could whip us all from one side of the street to the next. Winds reaching 100 km/h are in the forecast for tonight. So, these new weather conditions have left people wondering: will Halloween be postponed for another day? Will Montreal get to celebrate Halloween at all this year?
Some Montreal parents, locals, and internet bots have been very expressive about this matter and are saying that this Halloween postponement is going to make the children more "soft" than they already are.
The Mayor has yet to comment today about what will be happening with the already postponed Halloween, but yesterday she responded to the immense backlash she was getting by tweeting "Damn if you do, damn if you don’t." And well, she's definitely not wrong.
I would like to preface people's responses to the weather today with this very important video.
The comedic Montreal icon, Matthew Giuffrida (playing Martin in this video), asks the questions on everyone's mind. If we can postpone Halloween, can we postpone any other holiday too? If it's not sunny on my birthday next year, can I change my date of birth for that year?
But on a real note, the weather out today is serious. The winds are some of the strongest we've seen this whole year and it's causing some serious damage around the city.

With trees falling left to right, could it really be safe for kids to go out trick or treating tonight? I'm an adult and I'm too scared to go outside right now.
So now, we're all left feeling like this:

The Mayor made the announcement about postponing Halloween on October 30.
And people continue to respond to it today, asking whether it will be postponed again or if Montreal just won't see Halloween this year.

With the terrible winds happening, we don't want this happening to the poor children of Montreal.
These two make a very good point. Please hold on to your children tight!

Should we have just stuck to celebrating it on October 31 like every other year? Some seem to think so.

The age-old saying that "you can't predict the weather" is truly coming into play today.
It is quite humorous when you think about it.
An unofficial source says we MAY just have to wait until tomorrow to see Halloween occur... But don't quote me on that one.
