We've had a stretch of grey days in the city lately, with strange and wet rain-snow combinations coming down left and right. But Montreal weather this week is actually going to be sunny and beautiful... for the next 5 days straight. So if you've been dying to get some time outdoors but have feared the nasty precipitation, this is your weekend.

Like lots of lucky Canadians, I grew up learning how to ski very young. My family and I had this tendency to call out certain days when the sun was shining, the snow was fluffy on the ground and it wasn't too cold... "What a great day for skiing," we'd always say, imagining ourselves on the slopes.

Then, sometime near the end of elementary school, my mom started working from home on Fridays, so I'd get a ride in the morning instead of having to catch the bus.

One Friday we walked outside, on a day just like today, where the sky was blue, the air was cold and the sun was shining down on us.

"What a great day for skiing," I said, looking at my mom.

"It is... isn't it?" And all of a sudden, she had this look in her eye. "Do you wanna go?" She all but whispered to me across the driveway.

To this day I can't wake up on a morning like this without thinking, "What a great day for skiing." And I can tell you, that Friday was the first of many where my mom and I decided to ditch work and school so we could hit the slopes and make the most of a perfect skiing day.

Lucky for us, there is no need to ditch school today or any day this week in order to make the most of the beautiful weather we're getting in Montreal, because we're going to be seeing sunny skies for the next five days straight, meaning the weekend is going to be awesome, too.

Temperatures will be colder than we've had in the last week or so, but not as cold as we know it can get in Montreal.

And take in those little sun boys, shining along for 5 days straight... six if you include today.

So what can you do to make the most of this miraculous weather?

Well, you all know I'm voting for buying a ticket at your favourite ski hill and making the most of this chilly but sunny weather.

But we've got suggestions for things to do all over Quebec or right here in Montreal, whether you want to take it easy or try a new winter sport .

Just whatever you do, make sure you do it outside!
