Montreal weather brought us back to a snowy wonderland this week, with three straight days of snow culminating on Friday and temperatures colder than Moscow. Now it's looking like it's about to be sunny and beautiful in Montreal this weekend, according to Environment Canada's most recent forecast. The milder temperatures and promise of sun mean that this is a great weekend to get out there and cross something off your Montreal winter bucket list.
Although the warming up that we can expect this weekend means next week is looking... a little rainy.
In fact, Monday and Tuesday are both forecasted to see rain throughout the day as temperatures climb well above zero.
And then, of course, we'll get to see the classic Montreal re-freeze, where temperatures are expected to drop well below zero, meaning all that rain will turn to ice and we might as well all just wear skates to work.
Which is why I encourage you to have "Help an old lady across the ice" on your winter bucket list. It isn't hard, it's very rewarding, and you have the chance to really make a person's day. Not to mention saving them from a nasty fall.
So, if you see anyone out there struggling in the snow, offer an elbow to hold on to, would ya?

Plus, as things start to warm up moving into the beginning of next week, you may be able to ditch your full winter bundle if you head out on Sunday.
There's nothing quite like a sunny, snowy Montreal weekend.

Next week is when things get... interesting. The rain is going to begin on Sunday night as temperatures climb above zero, and it looks like the rain is going to fall for two straight days.

Finally, on Tuesday night, the temperature is going to drop drastically, from 7 degrees on during the day to minus 12 at night, bringing with it the chance of flurries.
All that rain is sure to freeze when the temperature drops Tuesday night, and will likely keep Montreal looking like an ice rink through Wednesday and Thursday, as temperatures remain well below zero.
This could mean getting around during the latter part of the week becomes difficult, whether you're driving or walking, so as I mentioned above, keep your eyes up.
You never know when someone could use a helping hand getting over a snow mound or a patch of icy sidewalk.
And if you're driving, keep your wits about you... or you could end up with a scene like the one above, from a couple years ago in downtown Montreal.
