There is no shortage of cultural festivals in Montreal and we are excited to announce yet another amazing fest coming to Montreal this summer. The Montreal Highland Games is guaranteed to be a day of fun in the sun celebrating all things Scotland.

The Montreal Highland Games brings Montrealers in contact with the world of Scotland, whether you boast a Scottish heritage or not. Discover "the treasures, legends and history" of Scotland's rich history, right in our very own city.

For the past forty years, the Montreal Highland Games has become "one of the premier events on the North American Highland games circuit," so if you've been craving some haggis or want to watch a Caledonian Run, look no further. 

There will be three whole days of fun, so check out the details of each day below.

The festival is three whole days of fun. On Thursday, August 1st at 7PM you can take in the Montreal Caber Parade, complete with pipes and drums. The Parade will run along Wellington Street in Verdun. 

The Parade will congregate at Parc des Madelinots on the corner of Lasalle and Wellington at 6:30PM and make their move at 7PM. They will travel along Wellington up to 2e Ave and then finish at the Verdun Borough Hall at the corner of Verdun and Willibrord near Parc du Souvenir.

Where: Parc des Madelinots (corner of Lasalle and Wellington), Verdun

The Burgundy Lion Pub will be hosting a "Wee Cèilidh" on Friday, August 2nd, 2019 where you can enjoy bagpipers, fiddlers, dancers and more. Get your beer on at one of Montreal's nicest terrasses.

The big day is Sunday, August 4th, 2019 when the Highland Games will go down. Events include Highland dancing and band competitions, a children's parade, medieval demonstrations, a haggis hunt and more.

The event runs from 8 AM in the morning until 8 PM when the last call will happen at the Beau's Cèilidh Tent and the last shuttle will leave the Hospital grounds and head to the Angrignon metro station. 

The shuttle will be running all day to provide access to the festival.

Other events happening on Sunday include several 5K runs and entrance to the festival is included in 5K participation purchases. You can also participate in the 6th annual Tug-of-War. Funds from the events go to the Douglas Hospital which is known for its groundbreaking work in mental health and neuroscience research.

Cost: $15 per person *CASH ONLY* children under 14 are free.
